The walk up the track to the remains of Ardpatrick monastery is quite steep. But you are well rewarded with superb views of the surrounding countryside. This really is the most beautifully situated tower I have seen to-date. It stands on the westside of a graveyard within a large oval enclosure, best viewed on an aerial map. There are no features remaining, but from the quality of the masonry on the northwest side it is suggested this may be a late tower. Inside the graveyard walls stand the ruins of Ardpatrick Church.

Situated: From Kildorrery on the N73 head north for Kilmallock in Limerick. As you enter Ardpatrick the Greenwood Inn is on your left. Walk up the Cul-de-sac on the north side of the Pub.
